Admittedly, it's rarely this colorful for us. But we couldn't resist this manufacturer and have added some table runners, sets and cushion covers with cheerfully colorful stripes to our range. This cushion cover is a little out of the ordinary, however, because the stripes are lined up next to each other without a supporting background. Tissage de Luz uses organic cotton for the plain weave fabric. The cushion cover can be washed at 60 degrees and can therefore also be used as a chair cushion on the balcony or terrace. It measures 39 × 39 centimetres (after the first wash) - you only need to fill it with a flat cushion filling for this purpose.

The Basque weaving mill Tissage de Luz not only excels at the craft of weaving but also at playing with colors and patterns. Stripes, in particular, seem to have captured the designers’ (and our) imagination. While stripe patterns are among the simplest in terms of weaving technique, in Tissage de Luz’s home textiles they convey a sense of exceptional craftsmanship. The origins of Tissage de Luz date back to 1908, when Jean-Baptiste Gouze, the son of a hand weaver, founded one of the first mechanical weaving mills in the Basque Country. He produced sturdy textiles such as the traditional “mantes à bœufs,” as well as fine table linens, which even back then were distinguished by their extraordinary, sophisticated patterns and details. Today, the fifth generation is at the helm of the company. The fabrics’ original designs and their exceptional quality reflect a passion for aesthetics and a deep understanding of the traditional art of weaving passed down through generations. Production continues to take place in France, covering the entire production chain: from design through dyeing, warping, and weaving to finishing. Natural materials such as linen and certified organic cotton are used.
